Yangzijiang falls after announcing warrants issue plan

SINGAPORE, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Shares in Yangzijiang
Shipbuilding (Holdings) Ltd  fell 7.7 percent to a
one-week low on Wednesday on concerns over the potential
dilution of its stock after it announced plans to issue S$20
million ($16.32 million) worth of warrants.
By 0155 GMT, Yangzijiang shares were at S$1.015, with 48.9
million shares traded, 1.2 times its average daily volume over
the last five sessions.
Yangzijiang said it plans to sell 330 million warrants at
S$0.0605 a piece, and each will carry the right to subscribe to
one new share at 7.617 yuan ($1.23). [ID:nSNZ1V2500]
" There is some uncertainty over why the company is raising
funds. It's not a large amount they are getting and the exercise
price of the warrant is also quite high considering their share
price today," said a local trader.

DBS Vickers Securities

Ezra  posted 1Q13 results below expectations, but improving
profitability on Offshore Support seen, which generated gross
margins of ~24% (+6ppt q-o-q) on better utilisation rates.
Separately,  Ezra  announced a batch of contract wins worth
> US$160m from across its business divisions. In FY13 YTD, c.
US$400m of subsea work has been secured, vs our full-year
assumption of US$1bn, lifting its current backlog to c.
US$930m. We have fine-tuned our FY13/14F earnings
forecasts by -9%/-2% respectively. We expect bumpy road
ahead to recovery

Maintain BUY, TP raised to S$1.58 (Prev S$
1.30) pegged to 1.15x FY14P/BV (previously 0.9x FY13 P/BV),
in line with its historical average valuation post-GFC.

Ezra Holdings- 1QFY13: Disappointing results offset by strong subsea contract wins.

(EZRA SP/BUY/S$1.25/Target: S$1.46)

FY13F  PE (x):  17.1

FY14F PE (x):  11.5

Below expectations. 1QFY13 net profit came in at US$6.8m (-49% yoy). Compared with consensus net profit forecast of US$73m and our net profit forecast of US$95m, 1QFY13 results are below expectations. Of the US$98.2m increase in turnover, subsea services contributed the lion share of US$86.2m while offshore support services (OSS) contributed US$9.0m. Marine services (ie shipyard) contributed a US$3.0m increase.

Management said that earnings are lumpy. Earnings in 2HFY13 are expected to be substantially higher than 1HFY13’s because of recognition timing of Ezra’s subsea orderbook (UOBKH estimates current orderbook at US$1b). Thus far in FY13, subsea contract wins have been good, totalling more than US$400m. Our projected subsea turnover of US$850m is doable. FY12 subsea turnover was US$552m.

Maintain BUY. Target price lowered to S$1.46 from S$1.53. We now adopt a P/B instead of a PE valuation. We value Ezra at 1.0x FY13F P/B. This is -1SD below its long-term mean of 1.8x.

OCBC Investment Research downgraded Ezra Holdings to ‘hold’ from ‘buy’ and kept the target price at $1.30, after the offshore services firm reported weak quarterly earnings.

At 11:29 a.m., Ezra shares were down 4% at $1.20, but have gained around 5% since the start of the year, compared to the FTSE ST Oil & Gas Index’s 1.8% rise.

Ezra’s net profit for the three months ended November fell 49% to US$6.8 million ($8.3 million) from a year ago, hurt by higher administration expenses and lower profits from associated companies.

OCBC estimates that Ezra’s core net profit for the quarter was around US$4.3 million, below its expectations and 16% lower than a year ago.

However, OCBC expects Ezra to see a pick-up in the second half of the year, as margins in the subsea business improve and as the division sees estimated new order wins of about US$925million in fiscal 2013.

Big fishes continue to depress the price today. See how far they are able to go. Those holding the stock should not be intimidated by their actions these few days unless you have to let go for certain reasons.
