PRs are smart people. They took the unwanted flats (very low floor, very far from MRT and supermarket) at 'super' cheap price becos no one want those flats. These flats were the left over ones and i think they are published on HDB website quarterly. These are the 'smart' people who bought cheap and they can sell higher price later. These flats floor area can be quite big compare to those near to the facilities/mrt ones.

We were kept reminded again and again of "affordable" housing every now & then, but if we look at the HDB own website that tracked the resale flats statistic hitting new highs in 3Q2009 (even higher than that in 97), then who is lying? As for the COV, dun know which goodu came out with the idea? My agents told me sellers asking for high cov bcoz the house is "nicely" renovated blah blah blah... (me pluke when viewing the house, esp the dirty toilets), seller spent "$80k" renovating, blah blah blah (yah.. maybe 10 years ago lor). Shouldn't all these already been accounted for in the valuation? So telling me the valuer is incompetent & cannot value the unit properly? As if trying to pass the renov cost to me...anyway just some of my grieves

I doubt anywhere in the world could manage Disneyland like LA. Singapore government knows its own strength and weaknesses and operating Disneyland in singapore will never be in their card. Lets see how Malaysia will run the Disneyland.....
chris168 ( Date: 23-Nov-2009 11:31) Posted:
Of all the Disneyland that I have visited in the world, HK DW is certainly the smallest. Not enough choices compare to those in the States where people go multiple times and still find it fun. Little wonder that it doesn't do well becos as a tourist, I would think twice to pay another visit any time soon.
I hope USS in RWS will not be an anti-climax ... high expectations, little to offer.
Calculation ( Date: 20-Nov-2009 14:25) Posted:
I agreed. Further, the figure of 30,000 per day sounds too optimistic.
Without "profit subsidies" from the casino, it is unlikely that the park could survive on its own.
Hong Kong Disney World, which is at the door entrance of China, could not make profit. In fact, it would not have been built if the Hong Kong Government did not inject 82% of the capital required. |

Anticipating more gamblers by next year since it is now more accessible to newly open casinos. I am fearful that crime rate might increase and for those who have little ones or teenagers at home,do teach them be alert all the time and learn how to protect themselves from unforseable attacks when one is in the lift or alone walking around secluded areas. One of my friends has already considered buying a resale condo at a reasonable price cos he and his wife both working and his teens come home on their own after school and sometime quite late at night and this has set his mind free from worrying of their safety. What a wonderful daddy he can be! I guess he travels a lot and the first thing in his mind is safety of his family. :)

Lawyers were among the first to jump on the BlackBerry bandwagon. You did not feel like you were really an associate until the firm handed you your little electronic leash.
But attorneys are coming around to the iPhone. There's even a website devoted to lawyers who use them.
And whether attorneys use the iPhone as their personal cell or their work device, they can make use of a variety of apps specifically directed to their lawyerly needs.
There are apps for dozens of sets of statutes and rules (both federal and state), in addition to some things that make the billable day just a bit easier. Here are the ten we think lawyers' iPhones should not be without.

Starhub should start an Exclusive Premier Membership where members could have a trial period to use super-expensive handphone for a few days before they decide if they wnat to purchase. US launching Apple tablet handphone and i guess it should be expensive. The exclusive membership programme could win StarHub some exclusive members in long run.
I dont charge StarHub for the above 'free' consultancy charge... LOL
