Also, most PRs choose singapore over other country for one reason : its a SAFE place to raise children and hv family.......Is this going to be the case in years to come with the opening of the casinos??   Are we going to stop growing our population when we hit the target of 6 million or are we aiming for more?   The casino will bring about the $$ but it comes with a price to pay.

If government has stake in any casino or gaming industry, it will be tough for them to set gaming legislation.....or it might send wrong signal to singaporeans that 'its ok to gamble'.   Plse  stay out of this!   We still have not seen what is the NEGATIVE impact having Casinos until few years later.. 'how is one able to raise a family while staying clear of gambling influcence wihtin this so call small red dot where 'All the Circle line and mrt lines'  are so easily accessible to an average singaporean.......

Why Singtel and Starhub be the only companies responsible for this 'high price bidding'??   Singapore pools should be the one to help contribute as well.  Betting has become part of football game and i dont see why SP is not asked to contribute to this whole damm thing!

If FIFA asking for sky high limits, then, very simple,  Dont watch the football match, and , no ransom from FIFA anymore in years to come.......

FIFA better be prepared for the 'No-Show' if they continue to be 'greedy'.....

junction      ( Date: 25-Jan-2010 16:44) Posted:

singtel thought it was smart by tendering high for EPL; starhub thought it was smart and started tendering high for EPL the last round and refused to share - worse it made other sports fans subsidise for EPL by selling sports channel as package, MDA thought it was smart by letting singtel and starhub compete in tendering for EPL.  All 3 are not so smart after all being suckered by EPL and now FIFA is holding Singapore fans to ransom. The ones who really lost big time are the Singapore consumers led by these 'smart' people.

tonylim      ( Date: 24-Jan-2010 14:23) Posted:

Singtel management should be shot for putting the whole nation in tight spot by fluaching its wealth which can be used to help the poor.  Why give charity to EPL and let FIFA holds the whole nation to ransom.  A shame and lack of resposibility.  The urge to win at all cost is affecting all of us, especially shareholders  !!!

haha! not bad, they make it 'nice' by closing 1.6 at least.  sold few but still keeping 3 lots to test if monday can reach 1.65.......(since they first fixed it at 1.65 and logically, cld breach tat price)

knightrider      ( Date: 22-Jan-2010 16:46) Posted:

Cheong and cheong and they want to push it past or at least S$1.6 by today closing,  ha ha, LOL. Lousy la, 1st day already submarine, very malu leh ! Thats why it is over-price, should lower the ipo to S$1.5 and now look much better ! Good Luck.
