DOW 1000? You kidding or joking? this signal that GOLD is going to shoot high high ... should invest in Gold. I am still holding mine. Gold 1500 and up looks possible :)

Besides eating and shopping, singapreans now can add another hobby to their list.i.e. Casino

The fierce competition awaiting the 2 IRs when they go into full operation. We leave it to them to compete while we will enjoy the indoor/outdoor entertainments they both could brighten up our dull and monotonous daily life.....

I very much looking forward to the openings.

If only Tiger airway could stabalise people's weight! LOL So that people will be more weight concious if they wanna travel by budget airline . Those weigh 100kg and above must pay extra together with their luggage weight for one winter cloth of XXXL is already few kg heavier than normal size people.

My own view is budget airlines should be restricted to 'budget terminal' for the fares the passengers paid for are much much cheaper than 'full fare'....that is why the word 'budget'.. If want to enjoy the luxury of that kind of world class service like SIA and to enjoy that kind of ambient T1 and T2 at Changi airport, for just a 'short haul' flight, i would be more than willing to pay full fare airlines. In a plane, econ / business/ first class are charged at different price and service are different. :)

i scold one of friend buying tiger air. ask him why he say cheaper than SQ.

personally i dont think there is much prospect in tiger. what happen if oil raise above $100?

they believe they can grow the corporate client? if market recover, do you think the corporate client will stay loyal to budget carrier? SQ make good profits from business class not just simply on corporate client.

another minus pt i hate is it operate from budget terminal. changi airport is world renowned hub, tourist visit singapore would like the experience of shopping at changi airport. once bitten twice shy, i dont think they ever want to take tioger air next time they come to visit singapore.

Hahaha, so, when you are about to make baby, you have to send signal to income department?

The only solution is get those young women who are willing to get be surrogate mother, pay them to produce babyies for singapore. But, they must be checked first if they are free from diseases.....

This is another business opportunity if our governmment is ok to have such policy passed during next election..... Shall we suggest that huh?

in japan, low birth rate, some suggested polygamy may help...

in singapore, there is tax incentives for children... maybe next time they should have that or even rebates for "attempts" in making babies .... Smiley

The casino is already here. The gambling will happen whether it is good or bad. What worries me is the social implications ie, the crime rate, the broken families, the suicides, the loan shark problems, the effect to productivity in our labour force, the emotional problems like depressions and compulsive gambling, etc. Is Singapore ready for it and the changes that it will definitely bring vis a vis above to our shores? I know there will be some who will say gambling is already available here daily like Toto, 4D, horse racing, football betting, etc. But with a casino open 24/7 with its bright lights, that will surely be like blood to a vampire! If it is far away and costly to get there, that in itself is a deterrant.

I would hate for Singapore to become unsafe to walk after midnight like alot of countries.....

Singapore office is becoming more attractive to hedgefund companies and they are pulling out from hongkong for HK tax being raised. Are we seeing more funds to be injected into singapore market or what are we expecting from this kind of move?

Hedgefunds' pools of money are private and unregulated..........they can sell anything they want so long as they make profits... same goes to blue chips, though blue chips would bounce back on tract faster than penny, but, never say never, just pray that blue chips stay intact..

Last week, there was a 'SELL' call for SGX and TP is $7.80 (plus minus)...that's why i was only monitoring the market and didnt buy anything.....if 7.80 is true, then, does it mean more selling coming?

The Sell down 'could be' ( i think) by Hedgefund companies due to redemption by their investors for purpose of payout pension or so long as their investors need money..(hope i am correct in this sense) .. So, it is not easy to stay in the stock market for,the retailers are the biggest losers.
