I am hoping the "BIG Battle" (in the case of US) is - ''Those who used public office to steal from people, should be prosecuted for treason. " This statement made by someone is best suited to fit into the big battle. Billions of billions of dollars were lost and millions became homeless and now is time to see how the while collar crime is being dealt with , 1 by 1.

China people (rural area) mostly use cash to fund their houses, only minimal % (yuppies or more educated ones and living in modern provinces) use banks' mortgages. Mortgages or bank lending not really big issue lar. | ||||

All the world's volcanoes must be heavily guarded , so as to prevent future 'man made' explosion of volcanoes in order to avoid such AIR disaster. Imagine security guards guarding the volcanoes.

I view MBS and RWS services are to supplement and completment each other. They both will draw crowds that want to 'one stone kills 2 birds' to bring forth their stay here longer so as to enjoy 2 facilities with less than an hour of travelling . My take is, if those important meetings (with country heads especially) are held at MBS, it is easier to CONTROL the crowd within the Marina Bay, for security reasons......you know what i mean? Also, i view Sands' employees might be more professional for they may be transferred from Sands (US) while they were retrenched last year or so. They made a loss in US to mostly Internet betting and they have heavily invested in here and out to make it big . |

your make good points here :) but, One stone kills 2 birds.......AFter MBS opens, people will come here and visit 2 casinos, instead of one, so, I view MBS' opening as a 'good sign' to have people stay here for the 2 casinos and enjoy the 2 IRs . :) Why not?? they are both so near and all reacheable by public transport. For time being until the AGMs and the rights issue, those folks from malaysia come here by bus/car or coaches and not by flights and not en-route from Europe. Thailand problems will bring HOT money into our market for, thanks to our efficient government and its team to make singapore a 'paradise for investors' becos of its safe and stable political environment. Given the present chaos in Thailand, isnt s'pore a better place for stopping over? Shanghai Expo is few months long, and are all of us going to be there for those few months long? I will not, definitely ..............hahahah! As the saying goes, sell in May and go away and couple with the world cup, quiet market is expected (by general consensus ! I dont know if its going to be like that? LOL!), but, as people say, correction is healthy? so lets see whats going to happen on Genting. As for the GS, Obama is on guard to set rules and regulations, we shall see how is he going to whip out his whip......... Cheers!

CIMB issued report today with a tabulted chart showing TP for genting 1.23 (but to be advised) The other direct Index consumer play to benefit would be Genting Singapore. Concern with negative translation effects from its UK operations is not going to be a big drag as UK hardly makes money now and will be totally overshadowed by earnings from RWS this year. Ownership of RWS makes Genting Singapore the most significant consumer proxy in Singapore, with the caveat being that the government stands ready to ensure that the S$ does not appreciate too fast to snuff out the tourism initiatives that are all coming to fruition this year. Other auxiliary beneficiaries from the tourism theme would be hotels (CDL-HT)
