hey ace6868, my allgreen fellowmate. hehe. where's awchyeong, the bunnie and ahbear and the rest? hehe.

back to biz: wait first. by my estimates, abt 1.23 is right. this dovetails with maxsyn and billywows' predictions. expect the T+4 players to move in only on monday. giantlow's right, quiet accumulation in large size lots (but sell too). A/D and chaikin consistent up, A/D slight down yesterday after straight up for 3 days on slightly lower vol. bollies are getting tighter. note chaikin esp sensitive to this counter.

hullo giantlow, long time no see/hear. :)

haven't been posting here 'cos simply can't keep up.. work busy, and forum threads move too fast. am holding btwn 4-7 counters that are changing quite rapidly so really can't keep up with everything. i tend to read only what i'm vested in (TA, not FA) or if title interesting. CMI (cannot make it) liao. zzzz.

you seem to be holding up pretty well tho. :)

and em. i think SPC is not tracking oil price now. i think it's tracking US weather.

you trade FX? o_0

ooh. big fish. no wonder why you can call such detail on the price charts alone. experience. *hats off to you!* which are you playing now?

hohokit. of course i'm cute. *muacks*

yea, am kinda like you then, shplayer. My TA calls this mth have been very fast, much faster than what i normally play ('cos follow the trend). FA hold for long time too. hm, will ask your expert advice when i accumulate semb corp next time. hehe.

most of my FA is in macqinf now. pure divvy alone. If a correction comes, i'm just gonna accumulate more of it.

yea you were right; i was too impatient that day. good lesson learnt at a relatively low cost. and haha you hit it right. i tend to move too fast. which is why i limit my risk by paying all full; no contra, no short, no cfds, much as i'd like to. must say most of my trades this mth have been settled within the T+4 tho, but that's just 'cos markets have been moving fast. i normally hold longer.

act, i bought SPC again at 4.06. would like this bug to be one of my longterm holdings. (FA call, not TA)

eh ok, better leave sembcorp counter to sembcorp posts. pai seh, sorry everyone.

?? i had taken it to mean that one should adopt a contrarian stance to the general market. as in, when others are fearful and selling, you buy; when others get greedy and are buying, you sell.

??

hm...perhaps soon but not time to out now yet....prob another two weeks or so to go... Singapore's Budget is out in feb, that'll likely add a feel-good factor to the market..

we seem to have separated out from the dow. all the more signs of irrational exuberance driving the market. alt, investors are outing of the US and into Asia. The nikkei, HSI etc are mostly up. It's not impossible to make money, quite possibly any second counter you pick will go up, it's about running, and fast, now, if you want to make a quick buck. gotta be selective and move very, very fast.

a psychological game now, perhaps...The more the man on the street says the bears are here, the more institutions will keep things liquid and green. So we're tempted to buy, since everything you see is green; but the moment retailers take the bait and ramp it up further, there'll be massive selling and it's the old story again of who's left holding this baby.

Perhaps.

zzz...billywows...would you mind doing me a favour? I'd like CSM results in nasdaq for tonight, if you happen to be doing a 6am post again (?! why are you awake at that time?!).

and ahaha, *lazy drawl* sure, sweetheart, i'll be expecting your flower come feb 14th. ;)

haha. nites!

why, geojam, interested?

haha.

separately: i thought that particular research was done on fund managers/experts vs monkeys, not TA ppl vs monkeys...at least, there was no mention if they used TA or whatever mtd.... unless it's a dif research we're talking abt?

and hmm. agree with you that it's the pennies that are having their turn in the sun now, but it's all part of the cycle anyhow. no need for us to be in the market all the time. sometimes good to take a breather. :)

nope, don't play contra--not unless the share price goes up _that_ much within that time that i can sell. i usually pay all on the transaction day itself.

hm..yea sohguanh. My TA trades for the past three weeks was 3 counters, they're all above $1, by in-and-out i make abt 20c more, as opposed to staying in Ho Bee (my 1st of the 3) and making the 3c extra from the dif between its current of 1.48 and my sell price.

and erm. diversification i took to mean in different sectors. not just pennies vs dollar-plus stocks. i mean, if you're buying all construction stocks of all sizes, then, there's really no diversification.
