Which is more critical and beneficial to singapore as a whole?  That is to dig more HOLES aka WATER PATHS.

Definitely not building something not necessary at this moment.    If building cycling tracks just to please those nationalities from China who are staying here or those fanatics who loves cycling in singapore,  this is not going to work!

The lates slogan for National Day  :    DIG and DIG, not Pile on and Pile on

P/s  -  If water paths never work or never serve its purpose after testing them for few years, then , cover them back to use as Cycling tracks!!

Conclusion to the  Flood :

STOP BUILDING UNNECESSARY  TRACKS FOR CYCLING PURPOSE, BUT ,  TO CARRY ON THE MASTER PLAN 2008 .i.e.  TO HAVE THE WATER BODIES RUN THRU THE ESTATES  (like those of the connecting parks )  to CONTAIN RAIN WATER !!!

My friend complained that his condo's toilet choked.   It was a new condo when he moved in few years ago!

Later, he got someone to take off the whole  toilet bowl, to his astonishment , he found that  in side the toilet bowl,  there is whole log of SANDS in it!!

The condo management then got the worker to clear those debris and the chokage problem was being solved.

Condo management told my friend, it was the Bangladshi workers who did the toilet job during the construtions.

What do we learn from this ?   Could that forienger take the instruction wrongly ??  or mere laziness that he lazy to throw out the sands but, conveniently throw them back into the toilet bowl??

Our garment must always have the  suspicious mind on  'where are those  'SUPPLYs'   coming from when building and contructions are concerned.!

1) labour supply - foreigners are not taking english instruction propertl cos of poor understanding and communications

2) Raw materials supply - be it using on the building of roads or track or 'blocks of buildings' ,  the supply of sands and other materials, are not to be taken lightly.

Its time to ABANDON the plans of  building more  new tracks, (eg cycling tracks) but, concentrate on the Master Plan which our garment announced in 2008.     Why borther about the cycling tracks??    NOt economical at the present moment.    They have mentioned about Plans on  Park and water bodies whereby they water paths run  thru some residential estates and they are connected (like those of connecting parks).   It is with the purpose of containing water to counter the water shortage supply.

I am wondering whats happening to this project?   because the sooner they have it done up, the better it would be to couter the flood problem.

PLSE ABANDON those unnecessary plans but to concentrate on something more beneficial to the singapore as a whole.

After the opening of the 2 casino, then we have flood.   It is good sign .   Water comes in , means money come come.

It seems that  reservoir areas never flood.  We should turn orchard road into a reservoir .

The best phrase ever   :    One man's meat is another man's posion.

If one keeps chicken as pet, they will find killling chicken is cruel .

Or if one keeps cockroaches as pet, they will like that pest to its core. (no wonder more and more people in mental hostpital ................LOL!!)

Animal cruelty has no parallel

Letter from Derrick Tan

I REFER to the letter, “Animal cruelty in its various guises” (July 16), by Daryl

Yong. He suggested the recent uproar over the act of animal cruelty by an anonymous woman is “the height of hypocrisy”, as many of us eat meat and legitimise the shooting of crows and the poisoning of mice as “pest control”.

His argument is flawed. Pest control is vital to health and hygiene, while slaughtering animals is sanctioned to support lives and done professionally to minimise hurting the animal.

Animal cruelty has no parallel — it is the abuse and physical torture of a pet one has committed to look after, and an inhumane act that disgraces mankind.

I dont see policemen  cycling round  the estate anymore.........Isnt it this  a good way to  KICK OFF  the cycling event since this  cycling culture is going to be part of our daily life.

Frankly,  I dislke  reckless cyclists...they are the most dangerous on  walking pavements.

Those who got FINE by the garment before,   must make them cycle and go round the padang  on  9 Aug 2010.

$1-million push for safe cycling

SINGAPORE

Opening the Tampines cycling path yesterday, Mr Teo urged both pedestrians and cyclists to continue to be considerate and gracious to each other when they had to share common spaces.

“The Government can implement all these tracks, but it’s important that the community can accept and accommodate cycling as part of their transportation culture,” said Mr Teo, who is also Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Transport.

One of the things that the Land Transport

Authority (LTA) is doing is to design a brochure to highlight the key designs of the cycling paths.

Mr Teo said the LTA is also working with agencies like the Traffic Police, as well as the local community to promote safe cycling.

Cycling clinics, volunteer patrols, talks in schools and workers’ dormitories, will be carried out to promote safe cycling, he said.

In all, $1 million will be pumped into the national drive to promote safe cycling and help cyclists share roads with pedestrians and motorists.

Last Thursday, the Government announced that seven towns will have a network of cycling paths to help residents commute via bicycles.

Residents of Tampines — one of the towns marked for the cycling network — welcomed the dedicated off-road cycling path.

And even though only one-fifth of the cycling path has been completed, it was enough to make some pedestrians and cyclists happy.

“People used to park, cycle here and there. It was not convenient for the pedestrians.

But now it’s really good,” said one resident.

The town is the first of seven to have this dedicated path under the National Cycling Plan.

By 2012, it will be a common sight in Tampines, with the entire stretch spanning 9.2 kilometres.

— While it is important that the community accept and accommodate intra-town cycling as part of their commuting culture, public education is key to ensure its success, said Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Community Development, Youth and Sports Teo Ser Luck.Evelyn Choo

Makes you wonder months ago at the last TP of $2.31, how did the Macquarie analyst keeps his/her credibility when Kepland share price has been moving up and up, and evey other analysts in town keep upgrading Kepland's TP.  After 1Q2010 earning report, the last TPs from CIMB is $4.51, DBSV is $4.13 and Fraser is $3.87.  Significant discrepancy.  Anyway, key is the coming 2Q report card.
