• The latest contract is the fifth contract they have secured

to RMB845mln, boosting their order books by 141% to
S$289mln (RMB1.445bln) which will keep them busy
for the next 2 years.

•Management will continue to work very hard to pursue
upcoming project orders and capitalize on the rail
infrastructure boom in China. Based on management’s
target, they are targeting to go after another
RMB655mln worth of potential new orders.

• The 50% capacity increase early next year will come in
very handy in accomodating these new orders and
management is planning to add another 33% new
capacity in 2011 to cope with further order wins.

• The stock having recovered a strong 208% since hitting
its low of 25 cents in Oct’08 has outperformed the
market reflecting its robust prospects. Despite this, its
2010 PE of 12-13x remains undemanding relative to its
expected growth rate of 30-35%, hence we maintain
BUY.

From DBSV:

Midas has won another RMB70mil contract for the supply of

aluminum alloy products to CNR Railway Vehicles. This is the

5th contract award to Midas in China in 2 weeks, bringing the

total value of contract wins during this period to RMB856mil.

On a separate note, the chief planner with the Ministry of

Railways said that around 13,000 km of high-speed railways

capable of handling trains traveling at more than 200kmph

could be completed and put into service by 2012, this

according to China Daily. Construction of 5,000 km of highspeed

railways will begin soon.

Straits Times Index / STI to cross 3000 boosted by long-term investors

No change in our market view – Current consolidation is a

pause, STI’s major up trend should resume once it ends.

Nibble on weakness.

There is no change in our technical view that STI’s pullback

from 2424 represents a pause and not a reversal of the major

uptrend that started in early March this year. The major rising

trend should resume once the consolidation ends and STI

should head towards 2560. In the near-term, a best-case

scenario would be range bound base building from around

2200 to 2320 prior to the resumption of the major rising trend.

Or the worst-case scenario of a dip towards 2100, testing

either the 65-day exponential moving average (EMA), currently

at 2125 or the 200-day EMA at 2108 before the rising trend

resumes. In view of this, we also stick to our view that investors

should start to ‘nibble on dips’.
