the other word you could perhaps be searching for is teleology.

aka the idea that all things are created for a purpose.

sometimes i can't help wondering if there was actually no purpose tho, and we're just accidents of atoms and molecules.

how does sentience come about anyway? The definition of our species: homo sapiens. the word sapiens comes from sentience, i.e., thinking beings.

of course, a cynic would say that we're anything but that. haha. or as mark twain says, 'we do no end of feeling, and mistake it for thinking.'

actually, i've always wondered whether babies remember what they thought/felt in the womb.

tech-wise: am expecting them to manipulate the counter further to shake out the small retailers, who are likely to get frustrated by the current bull run in other counters, yet edmi 'not moving' since oct.

Would likely see a drop in price next week (28.5-29.5cents?) esp if STI keeps going up. The logical expectation is to drop the price of this counter while STI (and everything else) is going up, so as to unnerve small timers to unload this stock ahead of its FYE. which is easy enough to do since they've cornered this one.

in other words, expect movement inverse to the market in general.

any thoughts?

thanks victorian for the regular updates. :)

aside, would you be able to calculate how much free float is left? i don't have access to vol/price data, so difficult to do that myself.

just a tech note:

candlesticks and RSI seem to be more sensitive to this counter. chaikin seems to miss some of its peaks. (cf period of 28th jul to abt oct 16th, notably nov 6 to 17th--consequences for short term traders then).

ok...this is going to sound crazy, especially coming from an elf species, but, given a choice, i would not take immortality, be it immortal youth or immortal life.

'cos i want to know at least once, what it's like to be young, to grow old, to feel, and dream, and be disappointed and finally to learn grace. The so-called positive emotions (love, happiness, laughter) are great, but it's the negatives that define the positive. Without knowing how it's like to be angry, depressed, poor or whatever, how can you ever appreciate happiness? or know how to be kind.

If it is The Way and buddhism you're talking about, then one of the key principles is the concept of impermance (anicca). to grow is to let go. Residing in a permanent state of youth/bliss is of course infinitely desirable, but then, you'd see only one facet of the crystal and not the entire enormity of life itself.

wouldn't you? i don't know.

and let me just say here that i'm a free-thinker ah. no religion but have read most of the scriptures/philos of the major ones.

hm. my take on immortality:

when people say they want immortal life, what they really mean is immortal youth.

'cos i don't think anyone would want to live forever in a decrepit old, aging body, with alzhemier's, every part of you failing, can't walk, talk, remember, all your loved ones have passed away, etc. that's living death. Plus, to have to keep outliving and going through the deaths of all the people and things you love...

bioidentical hormones are expensive. you'd need to get HLA-typed and all that. (it does work tho from a medical perspective)

btw kilroy, would like your opinion on SPC?

it seems range-bound to me, and some weakness in breaking the trend.

pun or punt, kilroy? hehe.

yep. like moths to the flame, gotta get burnt before we learn the taste of fire. each in his own time. let the market teach; the rest of us, really, have no authority.

altho of course, i'm not suggesting that anyone gets burnt on purpose!

hehe, nickyng, i personally wouldn't play the way you're playing SPC, but i guess, if you're having fun, why not? :)

the rest of us, let's just give the boy a break lah. Sure it might not seem like the wisest thing to us, but each person learns in his/her own time. I believe nickyng will learn when he's ready.

meanwhile, everything we say will just fall on deaf ears. haha. so let's cut him some slack lah. Nature will take its own course.

concur, gombong...bleeping stock.... :( went up only 'cos some analysts rated it way higher. almost no fundamental support tho...

sian. this kind of market, almost any stock you buy will go up. hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. and this will get crucial the moment the market corrects..

hey giantlow, relax lah...i've already given you the trading range of SPC what...it's a 4 dollar stock, inevitable to have large movement.

aside, be careful if it drops below 4.32-4.34.

you asked abt celestial (sorry can't find the fellowship thread and too tired to go hunting for it): appears to be on downtrend since nov. it looks to be crossing a buy soon tho. in other words you're looking for a short up on a downtrend. prob look to go in abt 1.43-1.45; i have no idea what the upside is  going to be tho. want to sell off....newmoon's warning abt correction... k, nites, buay tahan liao. zzz.
