Keep Dreaming :)

Is it possible? Likely? going by how things are doing great here and encouraging policies to make it all happen.

Singapore Dream - $1million for resales 3-rm-hdb. STI breaches 5000. Per capita income US$250,000. What more? (of course, daily living costs will go up too.)

Possible to attain soon. The feelings on the ground seems to say yes too. Life is great! you can feel it!

Demand for loans to purchase U.S. homes sunk to a 13-year low last week, and refinancing demand also slid despite near record-low mortgage rates, the Mortgage Bankers Association said on Wednesday.

Borrowing by Spanish banks from the European Central Bank surged in June to a new record high, indicating tight access to funding before the expiry of 442 billion euros in one-year ECB loans at the start of July.

Data from the Spanish central bank showed banks borrowed 136.49 billion euros from the ECB in June, a jump from the 105.6 billion euros in May. Subtracting the amount banks redeposited at the ECB, the total borrowed was 126.3 billion, a quarter of the overall amount lent by the ECB. That figure was up from 85.6 billion euros in May.

"It does appear that Spanish banks have increased their reliance on ECB funding even further in June," said Nick Matthews, economist at RBS.

"It's probably down to two reasons. One, banks may have taken more precautions before the repayment of 442 billion euros at the start of July, and  two, because of more funding difficulties," he added.

Borrowing from Spanish financial institutions from the ECB leaped in May from just over 90 billion for the first four months of the year as interbank money markets froze and domestic banks turned to Europe's central bank for financing.

Smaller banks in Spain lost access to interbank markets in late May heading into June over concerns that Spain could be the next country to face a debt crisis similar to that of Greece, where banks are heavily dependent on ECB financing.

Large Spanish banks such as Santander and BBVA were reported to have had little problem in accessing markets as they are better capitalized than some smaller banks which are of more concern given their exposure to non-performing property loans.

In June the government said restarting the credit market within Spain was needed urgently to return the economy to growth.

Market tension eased in July as markets drew more confidence that stress tests across the European banking system due on July 23 would show a largely solvent sector.

The key spread between Spanish ten-year government debt and euro zone benchmark bunds held below 200 basis points on Wednesday after rising close to 240 basis points in late June, still way above the 70 bps level it was in April.

We are in a Bull Run - We cannot afford double dip like i say previously. When theres a sell down i suggest you to be defensive and start to accumulate. We are likely to see STI 3200 by the end of the year. Good Luck. Have to repeat again... dont expect everyday market to be up.... there will be minor correction here and there.

BOSAYOR - Do not blindly follow any Buy or Sell call on this forum. 90% of the people here knows nothing.

risktaker      ( Date: 02-Jul-2010 13:28) Posted:

Last time i gonna say.

We cannot afford a double dip. Government Agency will step in to prevent that. The world has already spend trillions for the recovery and you have no idea what will happen if recovery is flushed down the drain. It might just be the end of the world.

1) Jobs creation index are up - There's an increase of online recruitment ads.
2) Unemployment rate or jobless claims are lagging indicators if u take it seriously ur might miss the ride.
3) Do not worry about China Growth - No one can replace China in manufacturing side. It will takes time to plan, build factorys and the require infrastructure. Furthermore China growth will be switching to a more domestic growth.
4) US market has more upside than downside @ this level.
5) Now go understand the problems the world are facing and invest in those stocks. That can help to solve the world problem. :)

STI might test 3200 End of the Year.

- This is just my idea - Not asking anyone to buy or sell. BOSAYOR

Theres alot of people waiting on the sideline or shorting the market hoping our market will plunge (These people are trying to earn easy money from the market)

.Our STI component stocks are made up solid companys. Most of them have proven solid yield/earning so far. If you think STI gonna drop another 5% to 10% that means Singapore 2nd half growth will be very bad.

Sorry to disappoint the public I do not think this will happen with our singapore strong econmic grow this year.

y is it the stocks market of other major indices like HSI and Shanghai index and the DOW going in the red these few weeks in a big slide here and there...then our Singapore market either go a bit in the red or even in the green...just...kinda didn't coordinate with the overall markets...feels uneasy in terms of...is this suppose to be 'natural'?
