Long Long time ago.....only company with 5 years of solid solid track record can list.......then 3 years of solid solid track record can list.....now....as long as you have a document that looks like a balance sheet.....can list. By Fax or photocopy also can, no need to stamp duty at the courts. Last time a company CANNOT anyhow change its core business, if change, the penalty can mean delist. Now....Monday Electronic, Tuesday do coal mining Wednesday change to windpower.....as long as it is trendy lor.... It is in my SOP not to buy these business lor..........BTW, on the tigerair, one of the major investor ind--something will use this IPO to exit this company lor.......

2 out of 3 years net losses and it is allowed to list? Is SGX doing it's work or simply hungry for listing fees? or simply because Tiger has a rich parent

1000 shares, the div is $5.00

Mkt price $0.17. If u buy 10,000shares ($1,700.00)

the div. is $50.00.

U put FD $1,700.00 for 1 yr. u can't get int. of $50.00.

Cheers

As per reports in ST profit div is S$0.05 per share.

1 lot 1000 shares - that workout to be S$50.00 per lot ?

Is this correct ????

As I have posted, the NAV is 16.40 cents. Downside risk is nominal.

Diversify to China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, etc is good for the co.

This business appeal to the masses, whether you are rich or poor

The co. is paying yearly dividend.Hope for capital appreciation.

Cheers

Considering the low mkt price, the proposed dividend of 0.5 cents is good.

The net asset value per share based on existing issued share capital as at the

respective date is 16.40 cents. Downside risk is minimum.

Qian Hu investments in vast mkt in China and India have great potential.

Financial analysts come from different schools of thought.

If you read "Genting Sp - Brokers Report" by UOB Kay Hian,

Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley does not give a encouraging

reports. It is your money, you analyse the reports and make your own

decision. Financial analysts must write something for a living.

Genting Singapore rated buy
Written by The Edge

OCBC Investment Research in a Jan 7 research report says: "Genting Singapore (GS) will partially open its integrated resort from 20 Jan 2010, with the operation of four of its six hotels; we think that the casino and USS should open soon once GS obtains the relevant approvals. Meanwhile, the Casino Regulation Authorities (CRA) of Singapore has laid out some pretty strict rules for junket operators.

"We note that the regime increases the level of oversight expected of the casino operators here, as the regulations leave the onus of maintaining the integrity of junkets to the casino operators. However, the strict regime is not unexpected. The latest developments may seem to be negative for Genting Singapore, but we believe that there should not be any lingering impact as Genting could easily develop its own VIP program, which could also help to improve margins.

"Based on more positive tourism arrival expectations, we have further revised up our estimates for FY10 and this in turn boosts our DCF-based fair value from $1.31 to $1.39. Although the upside from the current share price is under 10%, we believe that the positive sentiment of RWS’ impending opening is likely to see the stock substantially overshoot our fair value. MAINTAIN BUY."

.1971 to 2010, tat's 29 yrs. Hv seen many cycles orli

Any forummer hold for 29 yrs?

I will be a very rich man now if I hold my shares for 29 yrs. hahaha

pharoah88      ( Date: 04-Jan-2010 16:49) Posted:

Genting Bhd IPO 1971 @ RM2.00 = S$2.00

In 1971 Singapore, fried noodle was S$0.30 and today is S$3.00.

RM2.00 = S$20.00 today.

Genting SP today is S$1.30

Check out the World Resorts Sentosa today, it is 6-STAR Standard

compared to Genting Highlands today, that is 4-STAR Standard.

So Genting SP in 5 years' time........S$10........S$13........S$20........
