Hi Bintang,

U can use either UOBKH (Free chartNexus charting tool) or "Lim n Tan" as I saw pilotfish chart posting which looks like also chartNexus which is a extremely easy tool to use.

I do not know about lim n tan but I like UOBKH, very user-friendly, with right mouse click quick select menu .

Nah, dun say learn from me, we learn from one another, exchange pointers.

Just ignore (but I will rebut to protect newbies) those "noises" postings n no need to waste our breath to convince those TA detractors, Cantonese saying "Ngow thow ng  yam sui, tim cheok ngow thow  tai", literally mean "u can't forse a cow to drink watre if it refuses even to lower its head"

Bintang      ( Date: 01-Jul-2009 19:42) Posted:

Thank you richtan for your encouragement ,much appreciated ! I m still trying to post the chart . I m happy and willing to learn from you .As long as we could read the chart and tell the true from the chart to all the forumers , we had already done what we must do in this forum . People like you know chart n beleive in charting will always willing to listen even though without showing the chart , but not for others . Do not blame the charts not giving the early signals , but only ourselves to blame . Am I right , Mr Tan ? Like to share your views . Thanks .

I agree with your points, wow, keep it up, u are very knowledgeable.

Btw, noticed tat pilotfish did a chart posting using "Lim n Tan" which looks like also using chartNexus.

Many thks for making the effort to post the earlier chart, as I can't see the inverse head n the left shoulder, would appreciate if u can kindly post another chart to include the inverse head n the left shoulder.

The last 2 yrs had taught many of us useful lessons about consecutive new contract announcements pushed out by companies and analysts' upgrades then. Many were subsequently disappointed by those analysts. Many forumers said analysts were on same level as intelligence like the roti-prata man. When roti-prata man call buy, consider selling and vice versa. When companies continue to announce many contracts in a short period of time, beware. Think "cosco". blink-blink!

Not to pour cold water on midas.. jus be careful.

Both of u are very right.

I was once like u too, falling in love with the stock, unwilling to cut-loss, pinning on hope tat it will recover, learnt my lessons, told myself this must be a wake-up call n to learn the ropes of the trade, thus wholeheratedly read up TA n money management books.

The 2 mantras tat is forever ingrained in my mind is:

(1) Plan your trade n trade your plan (ie do not be emotional n distracted by outside noises, eg forum, etc)

(2) Cut losses short (do not be emotional, be mechanical) n let profits run with trailinfg stops - do not be to eager-beaver to take small profits,we neeed to  maximise profits to cover all those losses n yet make net profits.

cheongwee      ( Date: 01-Jul-2009 17:41) Posted:

you are wise, when i was younger, i said that , but when it come tp do it, i let emotiom play a major role, i hold, and hope that market is wrong and will reverse soon, but it always go down and down and down, till your stop loss got no meaning at all...

must enforce this stop loss no matter what....do u believe there are some who still holding on to STATAchp bought  8 buck till now 0.40c ...hoping it will go back to 8 buck...

that was me, but not this counter, i have learnt a lesson...nothing to be afraid or loss face...i am here to share my victory as well as my great defeat...

just do it, mechanically..

i thk the market is looking good ...toward end there sre some strong buying across the board as dow future gaining ground...

hope tomolo SAR soar and all counter soar...happy day to come back to this forum again..

it's always best to let the profits run longer than to cash out for small profit . On the other hand, set a loss limit if mkt turns against your position otherwise you are likely ended with negative portfolio .

Hi weishen,

U may also consider UOBKH, I use both UOBKH n DBSV.

Pros for UOBKH:

(1) provides free "Interactive chart" using ChartNexus with editing tools to add annotations, lines to draw support n resistance

(2) better webpage layout, easy on the eyes

(3) more user-friendly right mouse click "quick" menu to see "Time n Sales", "Trade Summary", "Interactive chart", etc.

Only cons of UOBKH:

(1) does not show the current day candle or price bar.

Only Pro of  DBSV tat make me use:

(1) provide current day candle or price bar

Hi Master richtan, Thanks again for your re posting. I saw your reply on the Pro & Con between UOBKH & DBSV. I think there’s problem with the ShareJunction server last night & couldn’t see your posting now. Hope I can contribute / share my TA in future after I study and use them. Currently, I’m using this site to learn: http://www.onlinetradingconcepts.com/index.html. I’m not sure if this is a good site but I think is easy to understand for beginner like me. Anyone can share other good site to study on TA, candlestick and etc?
