(How the short selling profits or counted? Example i sell a share at $1.0 and later i will buy back at $1.2, so the 0.2 is my profit..is it correct?) perhaps you might have misunderstood some terms. PLEASE DO NOT SHORT SELL AT ALL until u understand the true meaning. first, you MUST have share in CDP account before you can SELL share!. or you have Borrow ( i leave details out). If you do not have Shares, and do not borrow, yet you SELL, you are taking a big risk., next, if you do this SELL today, and you DO NOT COVER or BUY back by end of today, then you are NAKED SHORTing, and if you do so, you will be covered by CDP BUY-IN process at a very high cost to you., I copy here for you to read: In addition to the current processing fee for buying-in of $30 per contract, there will be a penalty of 5% of the value of the failed trade subject to a minimum of $1,000. This penalty will take effect for trades executed from Thursday 25 September 2008 onwards. The fee will be reviewed from time to time to assess its effectiveness. |

No need to inform IRAS on capital gain. Also CDP and IRAS are linked, CDP will pay you amount that had already been deducted from MAXIMUM tax rate. When you file ( especially using e-filing or electronic filing ) , IRAS record will show you those dividends as a lump sum. Every efficient. So dun need to worry on this aspect. |

results is out, 0.75c divvy. Adampak’s 2Q2009 net profit grows 132.2% qoq to US$1.4 million • Revenue grows 36.6% qoq to US$13.2m led by Hard Disk Drive growth • Hard Disk Drive grew 45.9% qoq and 22.8% yoy • Gross margin up qoq and yoy to 29.8% • Net margin up qoq and yoy to 11.0% • Board recommends interim dividend of 0.75 Singapore cents Singapore, 14 August 2009 – Adampak Limited, (“Adampak” or the “Group”), a manufacturer of high-performance labels, seals and other precision die-cut components, has reported a quarter on quarter (qoq) growth for its financial results for the three months ended 30 June 2009 (2Q2009). The Group’s revenue increased 36.6% qoq from US$9.7 million to US$13.2 million. The growth was mainly led by the growth in the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) sector, which contributed 59.2% of the Group’s total revenue. The HDD sector grew 45.9% qoq and 22.8% yoy to US$7.8 million. With other business segments growing qoq, the Group’s gross profit rose by 56.9% qoq to US$3.9 million due to lower overheads and higher operating efficiency. Expenses for the quarter were kept in check with both distribution & selling expenses and administrative expenses decreasing by 16.7% qoq to US$0.8 million and US$1.1 million respectively. However, the Group incurred higher income tax expenses as its Thailand subsidiary is no longer enjoying tax holiday. Consequently, net profit for the quarter increased 132.2% qoq to US$1.4 million. “We are pleased with this quarter’s results, particularly our sales to the HDD sector, which grew faster than the overall industry growth. With the higher sales volume, we were able to achieve economies of scale and better margins. As such, the Board of Directors has recommended an interim dividend of 0.75 Singapore Cents.” Mr Chua Cheng Song, Chief Executive Officer |

this low vol counter, 1H results seems very good with 1 c divvy, might chiong up tomorrow HTL RECORDS $19.5M NET PROFIT IN 1H 2009 Gearing improved to 18.7% from 21.4% SINGAPORE – 13 August 2009 – Mainboard-listed HTL International Holdings Limited (“HTL”), one of the world’s leading leather tanners and sofa manufacturers, today announced first half 2009 (“1H 2009”) net profit after tax of S$19.5 million, a reversal of the net loss of S$4.6 million in 1H 2008. Had the mark-to-market fair value adjustment on foreign exchange derivative instruments been excluded, the Group still would have achieved a net profit after tax of S$12.4 million as compared to a net loss of S$3.4 million in 1H 2008. This significant turn-around is a consequence of the effectively executed restructuring of our manufacturing operations, sharp cost-cutting measures, as well as a more stable global commodity price and freight rate environment. This was achieved despite a drop in Group turnover of 8.3% to S$286.0 million from S$311.7 million in 1H 2008 due to the continuing weak consumer demand in all markets. OPERATIONS REVIEW The bulk of the decline in Group turnover stemmed from the fall in Core business exports of 8.2% to S$262.9 million from $286.3 million in 1H 2008 due to weak demand for sofas. Turnover registered by the Home Furnishing Business remained almost unchanged at S$26.2 million (1H 2008 S$26.7 million). Other than Europe, all markets of the Sofa Business Unit showed declines in export turnover. Exports to Europe rose marginally by 0.8% to S$174.6 million in 1H 2009. Leather Business Unit turnover declined 6.5% to S$106.6 million from $114.0 million in 1H 2008. The percentage share of Leather Business Unit output absorbed by the Sofa Business Unit continued to climb to 92.8%, up from 85.5% in 1H 2008. From 30 September 2009 the Leather Business Unit will direct all its output to the Sofa Business Unit and consequently cease to supply finished leather to external customers. The Core Business Unit’s net profit before exceptional items rose 299.5% to S$15.5 million against S$3.9 million in 1H 2008, while the Home Furnishing Business Unit’s net loss for 1H 2009 declined by 19.8% to S$2.3 million. The Group’s improved performance enabled it to generate positive free cash flow of S$9.2 million as at 30 June 2009 against a negative free cash flow of S$10.1 million in 1H 2008. Net gearing also improved to 18.7% compared to 21.4% 1H 2008. OUTLOOK Despite cautious improvements in consumer confidence in all markets, the longer term outlook continues to be unclear and dependent on government fiscal and monetary measures as the prime mover. We remain vigilant in our cost management and focused on developing new markets and strengthening existing ones. Barring unforeseen circumstances, we expect the Group’s recovery in performance to continue. DIVIDEND The Group is pleased to announce a second interim cash dividend of S$0.01 per ordinary share (tax exempt – Tier 1) which will be payable on 18 September 2009. ---------- End ---------- |

1.4cents interim divvy is indeed generous, just think this way, 303.x million shares of 1.4 cents is around 4.24 million dollars, that is a big portion of the 7 over million profit. |

your interpretation is incorrect what you did just down in market is BUY 20 lots of Nil-paid Rights at 0.05, after you pay this to broker, your 20000 'rights' will be in your CDP then before 18 Aug, you MUST go to ATM and pay 0.095 each our rights to convert them to mother share. Pay your 20 lots or $1900 plus may be 2 dollar transaction fee for the bank. then on 27 Aug check your CDP again, they should credit you with 20000 FCOT share.

When you choose to BUY rights share in market, you do as per normal online broker, after BUY, and paid, these will get into your CDP account then you need to use ATM or ARE form to pay for the exercising price of 9.5cents in order to convert to mother share your broker WILL NOT help you to exercise the Rights and convert to Mother shares, this one u must do it yourself via ATM or ARE form
