Use your CHARM  to charm the pretty girls there, see if they can give you 50% discount  from  the  Levy fee .

No way government will impose more rules on Casinos like that  of Property.

The worst impact of today's news is  those who are  private property owners and are looking to buy resale flats.   How on earth is this going to work?  They have to sell their property within 6 motnhs on buying  a resale HDB Flat ??? Can they make it in time to sell their private property?  What if they cant sell off their private?

The best choice is DONT buy private property for one looses out lots of benefits...like those 'Ang Pow' government give out most are  those staying in 3 rooms or 4 room flats owners............

Unless have extra money to buy , if not,  buying Private property is like  digging  own  grave's yard..  Quite a number of  people i know already put off  the idea buying private property becos of the many restrictions.

So many counters to Buy, but so little time and resources.

I'm looking at SembMar, Kep Corp, F & N, UOB, DBS, ST Engg, NOL and Wilmar.

This is my personal analysis. You invest at your own risk.

Good luck to all.

Tightened the influx of foreigners and letting them to become singaporeans doesnt mean the drop in proeprty price.

Isolator      ( Date: 30-Aug-2010 12:03) Posted:

There is a need to slow down (but not stop) immigrants as Singapore is small island unlike other cities which people still can stay outkirts...There must be a control on the population. The government should not overdo it to build the nation (people, infrastructure, etc) or else it will lead to a big crisis in future....

Whatever it is, property cycle of correction starting... it will be a long cycle.....

How to give the exact time of arrival and departure??? when :

Are singaporeans educated in  'using the roads in singapore'?   Bus Drivers have to take care of so many unpredictable incidents happenings DAILY, while driving the  big buses .  These unpredictable incidences could slow down the arrival/departure time at the bus terminals.

1) Pedestrains any how cross the roads, never bothered to use overhead bridge, zebra crossing or traffic lights, unless bus drivers allowed to drive thru these people and knock them down without going to prison or being sentenced to death,, you cant guarantee  a  pucture arr/dep time at bus terminal

2) Falling trees, heavey traffic jams, due to road accidents      etc...............unpredictables.

3) Ours is a small land and with so many traffic lights (designed to be used by  pedestrains, but, most failed to use them), and ERP, etc,  comparing to other cuontries , they have more straight roads and straight roads are easier to be monitored.

4) Bus drivers have to make sure pedestriasn seated down before he could move the bus off, if not,  complaints will be lodged against them.

Its hard to be a bus driver!!!!!

pharoah88      ( Date: 26-Aug-2010 14:44) Posted:

Take the guesswork out of the wait for the bus

I refer to Ms Angie Lim’s frustration over the unpredictable frequency of buses marring the benefits of our new distance-based fares (“New distance-based fare system cheaper but ...” Aug 23).

While I can appreciate that traffic delays lead to the unpredictability of bus schedules beyond the terminals, there can be no reason why departure timings at the terminals should be unpredictable.

I have on two occasions asked the Serangoon Bus Interchange control office for the departure schedule of a bus service, but the staff refused to provide the information, stating they do not have such a schedule.

When pressed further, the officer said that bus arrivals may be delayed, thus affecting departure times.

Is there a policy within SBS not to provide bus schedules?

How can we claim to have a world-class public transport system when the fundamental element of predictability is absent?

In many developed nations, the public bus transport system has arrival and departure times that are exact to the minute, at the terminals as well as at every stop along the journey. Singapore should strive to have the same.

My quote  """""If PM lee goes to Casino with a good course  to promote as follows.......

Each $ spent at RWS or MBS,  20 cents goes to  those old folks who are sitting alone on the benches near their rented flats from morning to night  staring blankly into the sky....""""""""

I mean Each 'Playing $'  spent in the Casino , and not the levy.  If Casino makes 1.6 milllion a day, it means 20 cents x 1.6 millions, goes to those old folks.

Let the old folks be taken care of by the players who patronise the casino.  Hows that?  So, with the openings of  more casinos in singaore, old folks in singapore need not worry about getting old..

GIC planning roadshows for $4b IPO: Sources

SINGAPORE

The sources said GIC would launch the IPO at the end of the third quarter or early in the fourth quarter. Nomura has been appointed to market the IPO in Japan, they said. GIC is likely to file the IPO prospectus with the Monetary Authority of Singapore in early September, said a source.

“It’s moving fast,” the person said.

A GIC spokesperson did not respond to MediaCorp by press time.

If successful, the IPO would be the biggest in Singapore in 17 years since SingTel listed in 1993 and raised $4 billion in three tranches. It would also trump CapitaMalls Asia’s US$2 billion IPO last year.

The sources said GIC planned to list its ProLogis assets in Japan and China in addition to some of its assets in South Korea.

In 2008, GIC Real Estate bought ProLogis interests in Japan and China in a deal worth US$1.3 billion to consolidate its existing portfolio in Japan and embark on expanding its logistics property business in China, according to wire reports. ProLogis is a global distribution facilities provider with 475 million sq ft of industrial space across North America, Europe and Asia.

GIC Real Estate also bought Star Tower, a 45-storey office building in Seoul from Lone Star Funds in 2004.— GIC Real Estate, the property arm of the Government of Singapore Investment Corp, is planning global roadshows late next month for an initial public offering (IPO) of its overseas assets worth around US$3 billion ($4.06 billion), Dow Jones Newswires reported yesterday citing unnamed sources.
