Actually Rickmer case, a bit tricky. The results til now haven't announced. The longer it takes, i will feel uneasy bc any time maybe another correction may come.

N current situation is whenever XD, people will dump their share. If correction comes at same time, it will be bad.

I suggest u profit some first.

However like i say actually shipping trust stock can keep some as investment. But don't keep too much, as that will lock yr money.

Bc after all, they give divi every quarter. N when economy become better, we may not get that at this price.

Chee Meng, ok  ic. Anyway fr my FSL, i intent to hold on. Taking as a investment plan i had bought from an insurance company.

Had make a calculation, after about 7 to 8 years onwards, the divi will have paid all my input (i'm using the US$15 as a gauge. Will be faster if divi went bk to high rate).

For yr case, u still can chose either one to keep but not large amount loh..... (my opinion)

Wish u prosperous in all yr investment, cheers.

U buy early leh........anyway congratuate.

Me bought abit late, n got no urgent intention to clear. Taking it as buying an insurance. But this insurance is a much better one. 7 to 8 year laters, all divi will be my profit until old....haha

freeme      ( Date: 03-Aug-2009 21:12) Posted:

I liquidated this earlier too. at current level, it looks more worth it given its lower DPU. But of cos, i still hold to buy back some day if it can drop abit more.. hehe

OCBC’s $466m profit beats estimates on insurance: Update

OCBC shares have jumped 57% this year amid signs Singapore’s economy is recovering. Bank of America Corp.’s Merrill Lynch & Co. increased its ratings on the company and larger DBS Holdings on July 24, citing the potential for a strengthening economy.

“The pace of recovery remains uncertain,” OCBC Chief Executive Officer David Conner said in today’s statement. “There is growing consensus that the worst is over for the global economy and financial markets.”

Net interest income, or the difference between what the bank makes from lending and pays on deposits, rose 5% to $710 million in the quarter. The net interest margin, a measure of loan profitability, widened 5 basis points to 2.29%. One basis point is 0.01 percentage point.

Fee income jumped 37% from a year earlier to $494 million, OCBC said.

Rickmer main problem is the refinancing. As long as this problem not iron out, i suggest u should split up yr eggs in 2 different baskets.

Play safe. Don't everytime i think/ assume they will give lots of CD. Must confirm. This is what was taught in army. don't assume, pls confirm.

The same thing will happened if u vest in Rickmers. Now the big fish are hoping lots of people to buy the share up. B4 CD they sell liao loh.....n won't  wait fr u to see sun rise my pal.

Even after CD, the opening hr start they sell lots lots already. Those enter late...go holland liao........they stick at high price.

Just hope Rickmer results announce early. If too late, worst still........ by that time correction may already start....cannot escape fast also........... Moreover, we won't know if Rickmer is giving good news or bad news. So why rushing in at this price.

Rem don't put all eggs in one basket..............

FSL now considered stable as current price range is abit cheap for now. It all depends on individual people thinking.

There are also people who worry not able to get cheaper price house if don't get in too soon. Thus they rushed for it also.

I just hope the price of the houses are not over-pushed up. For that maybe bad.............

Currently we are seeing lots of people going for property. Why? Bc vesting in property is used as a hedge for inflation.

Actually we are at inflation risk..... u know my forumer folks.

But Capland pricing may be going down........

Too many query fr their investor. On why so much money is still needed after raising the Rights.

They are feeling that Capland is not using their cash well (my opinion).

Again, Capland may need to come out to explain on the reason why.
