It will take a lot to break gold’s downtrend, charts show
Just a thot: " A break below $1260 has a downside target near $1000."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Source: http://www.cnbc.com/id/100888334

Tom Kendall, the head of precious metals research at Credit Suisse, says he won't get into gold yet. Actually, he'd advise selling, with CNBC's Josh Lipton and the Futures Now Traders.

A trend change is signaled when short term group of averages compress and begin to turn upwards, with the trend change confirmed when the long term group of averages also compress. At this point, there is no sign of this behavior on the gold chart. Traders will watch for consolidation around the $1260 level prior to a trend continuation.

A break below $1260 has a downside target near $1000. This is calculated using the same methods that gave us the downside target near $1260 after the fall below $1540. The reality is that gold has been trapped in the sideways trading band since November 2011. The trading band includes strong rallies and strong retreats.

The break below $1540 was a critical change in the trend. The width of the trading band is $260. This value is used to calculate the potential downside at $1540. The same value is used again to set the new downside target near $1000. The $1000 level has acted as a support and resistance level between Feb, 2009  and Oct, 2009.

There is a high probability it will act as a support level again.

The fall below $1540 and below $1260 signals the resumption of strong trending behavior. Traders will short on the rallies.

http://sg.finance.yahoo.com/news/g20-finance-ministers-aim-more-141445021--finance.html

Saturday - The G-20's finance ministers said their countries consider strengthening economic growth and creating jobs to be top priorities.

In the ministers noted that although there are signs of stronger economies in the US and Japan, the grp of 17 EU countries that use the euro continues to suffer from recession and that economic growth in emerging markets is comparatively slow.

The minister were " mindful of the risks and unintended -ve side effects of extended periods of QE," where speculation that the Federal Reserve may soon wind down its bond-buying program has roiled markets around the world — especially in developing economies.

In a separate statement, IMF head Christine Lagarde  mentioned " the spillover effects of monetary policies, the implications of recent market volatility, and the need for balanced and credible fiscal strategies." ''The global economy remains too weak and unemployment is too high in many countries," she said. " There has also been an increase in financial market volatility and tightening of financial conditions."

U may hav noticed or even speculated on,  lately on penny stocks.  Penny stocks offering opportunities for  smaller investors, at greater opportunity to earn significant up-side  on their investments.

The benefits occur for two reasons.

1. It doesn’t take a  huge amount of  money to invest in penny stks.

2. Penny stks hav huge potential significant returns, (but not w/o risk

B'cos price per share is low, n can experience huge price increases, sometimes even doubling or tripling in just one single  day. Price surge or rocket, do not often occur with larger companies, but which  are much more in  common  for penny stocks.

But, with thousands of different penny stocks to choose.  How should you go about finding the right ones to invest in?.

Give it a thot when and or even BBs, n  more players  joining in to play.

The Equities March Continues
  • Markets higher on Bernanke’s assurances that policies will stay accommodative
  • Equities react positively to both negative and positive news flow
  • China  slows Domestic risk assets to stay under pressure

Global markets rallied in the wake of dovish Fedspeak and it appears that equities may be in a sweet spot: where “bad news is good news” and “good news is good news”. Bonds remain overvalued relative to equities and as the rotation in asset classes continues to unfold, we expect the upward trajectory in equity prices to continue.

Thyroid cancer risk for 2,000 Fukushima workers: TEPCO

Around 2,000 people who have worked at Japan's wrecked Fukushima nuclear plant face a heightened risk of thyroid cancer. Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO) said 1,973 people, around 10% of those employed in emergency involved in the clean-up since the meltdowns were believed been exposed to radiation.  A 10-fold increase of possible thyroid cancer victims, after the utility was told its figures were too conservative. TEPCO reported to World Health Organization in December that only 178 workers...at the plant were believed to have received radiation doses to their thyroid glands above 100 millisieverts.
http://fukushimaupdate.com/ (Wed) - May 23, 2013 / Nuclear Regulation Authority accepted an assessment that a reactor at the Tsuruga plant in western Japan is sitting above an active fault, making it increasingly difficult for the facility to resume operation.

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2013/07/deformed-vegetables-fruit-reportedly-pop-up-around-japan-nuclear-plant/

2 years after nuclear disaster, Japan spawns freaky veggies.

It might be wise to steer clear of vegetables from Japan's Fukushima area for, oh, say a few hundred years.

A Korean website assembled this image collection of produce from towns and villages surrounding the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. And they are NOT pretty pictures.

From Siamese-twinned corn cobs to what can only be called peaches with elephantiasis, the region's agriculture appears to have taken a heavy radiation hit from the nuclear disaster in 2011.

It's not clear yet what effect eating the produce might have on the population, but you never know. It could be pretty dangerous, but you never know — in an ideal world, maybe it could give you superpowers. [Source] [Source]

Last year, Japanese scientists said that “abnormalities” detected in the country’s butterflies may be a result of radioactive fallout from the Fukushima disaster. Researchers said that “artificial radionuclides” from the stricken power plant caused “physiological and genetic damage” to pale grass blue butterflies.

Five months after the disaster, cesium 137 and 134 were detected in more than a dozen bluefin tuna caught near San Diego. The levels were 10 times higher than tuna found in previous years.

Fukushima nuclear reactor meltdown have been devastating.

The mortality rate of elderly people who were in retirement facilities near the nuclear plant has reportedly tripled.

There has also been reported increases in the number of children with flat feet, thought to be the result of kids playing on radiated soil.

Devastation from the traveling radiation has even sickened infants born in other countries.

Beijing - The most important step will eventually need to take in liberalizing its interest rate regime.

" Is a big breakthrough in financial reforms. Previously people had thought the central bank would only gradually lower the floor on lending rates. Now they scrapped the floor once and for all," said Wang Jun, senior economist at China Centre for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE).

The move, which goes into effect on Saturday, will likely lower borrowing costs for businesses and individuals, ending what many observers said had been artificially high borrowing costs that benefited big state lenders at the expense of private enterprise.

Talk  that Singapore’s monetary policy will be eased soon is growing louder as the economy teeters on the brink of recession. Yet, high inflation puts the country’s central bank in a bind and its next policy move is by no means a done deal.
