Diesels can be run on almost any kind of oil: corn, soy, whale...but probably will end up running on a kind of algae since it is by weight 50% oil or so. The following comes from a wikipedia article:

US$10m IFC boost for Epure ahead of its listing here

By CHEW XIANG

EPURE International, a water-treatment specialist in China which is planning a Singapore mainboard listing, has received a US$10 million investment from Int'l Finance Corp (IFC), the private sector investment arm of the World Bank.

The preliminary prospectus lodged with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) yesterday shows IFC has a pre-IPO stake of 13.4 per cent. 'Post-listing, IFC will retain a substantial shareholding,' said Epure.

Francisco Tourreilles, director of IFC's infrastructure dept, said: 'IFC's investment in Epure will support the development of China's water and wastewater sector and will contribute to public health and environmental improvements for the country's population.'

Epure chairman Wen Yibo said: 'IFC's investment is a strong endorsement and testament to the high standards of water and wastewater treatment technologies that we currently possess. It is also a major recognition of our high standards of quality and commitment to environmental protection.'

Earlier this year, S'pore's water-treatment group Hyflux also announced an IFC investment of up to US$20 mil in SinoSpring, a Hyflux joint-venture Coy that undertakes projects in China.

Reflecting the increased water-treatment activity in China, Epure's revenue hit 380 million yuan (S$75 million) in FY2005, a compound annual growth rate of 38 % from FY2003's 199 million yuan. This resulted in net profit growing from 37.6 million yuan to 79.9 million yuan over this period. Epure said the group is backed by a 10-year track record.

First-quarter results for the current financial year showed a 15.4 million yuan net profit on revenue of 90.3 million yuan. As at March 31, Epure's order book stood at 456.7 million yuan, with 366.7 million yuan expected to be recognised this financial year.

As a result of rapid growth, Mr Wen said, the company felt the time was right to tap capital markets to fund further expansion. 'Singapore is an ideal place for us to list the company as investors here are familiar with water and wastewater treatment companies.'

Water stocks listed in Singapore include Bio-Treat, Asia Environment, Asia Water, Hyflux and Sinomem, all having interests in China. Locally listed Boustead Singapore's wholly owned subsidiary Salcon is also one of Asia's leading wastewater engineering players, having already completed more than 60 projects in China.

Talking about penny stocks. Personnally i do experience with one fundamental stock (ComfortDergro) many years back, it was all the time, traded down to about $0.60cts, in btw give 1-2 bonus (from a stock i hold 20 lots, they give me 10 lots and end of the day i got a total of 37.5k shares. A gain from cost $12k to 56.2 K, estimated gain 0f $44k), plus almost each year about 6% dividend yields and now going for $1.50 (average). I alway use to look out for such stock in my old days and even now and i go for China Enersave. So there is always the risk there even if it is big ticket stocks, so how is it going to justifiy it is risky and does the risk out weight it gain ?

If not for sharing those tot and experience i would have just keep quite for good and pump into stock that i can see it is coming of age....anyway ur $$$. Ur decision ya.. FYI only.

*FYI: not an inducement to trade, if need be within ur mean ya.

A different here btw convention fired power plant-coal, diesel, natural gas (LNG) and to wte, biomass which China Enersave is operating in.

1st) Less subject to rise in raw material cost as compare to a coal fired power plant & bio diesel ethanol producing plant (px of commodities, corn, palm oil, potato and so on is up) as waste to biomass energy r available at almost no cost. (the govt also pay a fee for disposal of waste/biomass through burning which benefiting China Enersave.

2nd) Power produce by wte biomass r environment friendly which are sold to national grid (no credit risk, the govt). The Chinese authority r  guarantor, the sales of electricity generate from environment friendly power plant where it's govern by law which pass last yr stating electricity generate by the environmental friendly power plants will be purchase by the govt at a stated price of 0.52 rmb/unit of electricity.

3rd) By products from wte plants (bricks & fertilizers) can be sold off for additional income. Wte biomass plants will grow in important due to high oil and commodities prices.

4th) Plants asset r a favour for foreign fund seeking asset in china be cos of it good cash flow & earning. The wte site in huizhou which enersave bot in 02-03 should have risen in value over last 3 yrs.

5th) Revaluation may increase d nav/share & px earning increases when they (DBSV?s) decide to do so.

Last but not least, environmental friendly power plants can earn carbon credits which can be sold as commodities in int?l commodities exch-s under the UN
Kyoto protocol agreement.

A point to note: Enersave power plant help save earth, biz that grow w/you, good profit and at the same time help promote a good cause.

*Do chk out for details, investing!!!, potential are great but do watch out for some risks.
