Pl. bear in mind that there is no such thing as free lunch.

These financial analysts are paid by the financial instituitions,

why should they give you free advise. Upside, downside,

buy/sell call, TP and whatnots.

I have seen a few cycles of bull and bear.

The one that interest me most is panic selling.

Ppls just dump and dump their shares as if there

is no tomorrow.Very sorrowful indeed. Many go

"pok"and some even commit suicide.

In my opinion, never throw good money after bad.

Sometimes it's easy said than done.Afterall, you

must be thinking that you have bought high and

now the price is lower, it's a steal to accumulate,

why not?????? Pl. remember my first sentence.

iPunter      ( Date: 07-Jul-2010 09:29) Posted:

I cannot understand how it can be called

     'be defensive by accumulating'

           when whenever there's a sell-down..

If the market trend is down, isn't it common sense

that accumulating on the way down is not a wise thing to do? Smiley

Genting Sp divest its entire UK casino operation for S$688.8m

Book an excess over book value of around S$103m

Can anyone pl. explain "it will also  recognize a non-cash

exchang translation loss of S$338.8m". Kam siah (thank you)

Genting Singapore: Selling off UK operations

Summary: Genting Singapore (GS) has entered into a conditional sale and purchase agreement to divest its entire UK casino operations for
£340m (or S$688.8m). If the proposed divestment is completed, GS will receive net proceeds of ~S$688.8m and will book an excess over book value of around S$103.6m. However, it will also recognize a non-cash exchange translation loss of ~S$338.8m. But we are not overly concerned as we view the sale as an exceptional item; we also agree with management’s intention to focus its energy on RWS and also opportunities in the region, as gaming here is still likely to experience good growth prospects. Assuming the deal is completed, we expect it to reduce our FY10 sales estimate by 24% but increase our net profit estimate by 13% as margins would improve ex-UK operations. As we also believe that GS is likely to spend less in capex without its UK operations, our DCF-based fair value rises from S$1.29 to S$1.34. Maintain BUY. (Carey Wong)

We are in a Bull Run - We cannot afford double dip like i say previously. When theres a sell down i suggest you to be defensive and start to accumulate. We are likely to see STI 3200 by the end of the year. Good Luck. Have to repeat again... dont expect everyday market to be up.... there will be minor correction here and there.

BOSAYOR - Do not blindly follow any Buy or Sell call on this forum. 90% of the people here knows nothing.

risktaker      ( Date: 02-Jul-2010 13:28) Posted:

Last time i gonna say.

We cannot afford a double dip. Government Agency will step in to prevent that. The world has already spend trillions for the recovery and you have no idea what will happen if recovery is flushed down the drain. It might just be the end of the world.

1) Jobs creation index are up - There's an increase of online recruitment ads.
2) Unemployment rate or jobless claims are lagging indicators if u take it seriously ur might miss the ride.
3) Do not worry about China Growth - No one can replace China in manufacturing side. It will takes time to plan, build factorys and the require infrastructure. Furthermore China growth will be switching to a more domestic growth.
4) US market has more upside than downside @ this level.
5) Now go understand the problems the world are facing and invest in those stocks. That can help to solve the world problem. :)

STI might test 3200 End of the Year.

- This is just my idea - Not asking anyone to buy or sell. BOSAYOR

Currently, Genting SP has a higher chance of falling down than going up.

If you brought in May or early Jun then you are a Big Winner.

Now is a bit too late.
