Dow falling slightly is a mild correction and a welcome sign. It is good that Dow is trying to build a platform (base of slightly above 14000 points) for " future base" of the index . For longists, the hope is that 14K will be the baseline and trading in US stocks moving towards higher grounds. This has been possible (or will be possible) with support such as Fed interventions/purchases and constraining interest rates from rising. The important thing to watch is the spending agreement. It is a forgone conclusion that all will be well, and that Obama and the Republicans will strike a deal that is good for the market. The Eurozone problem is no longer a bother for investors but for relevant leadership to take care, as investors will take the recent revised GDP marginal growth as a sign of green shoot coming out of the US economy. That is for the US market, but I also believe that the Asian markets will probably move in tandem with the swing upwards. For shortists, it will be very despairing time waiting for a big fall. It will probably be a long wait.
