Whether it is 90% probability, or 50%,

one should never " mau" (whack big stakes)

on a stock... Of course one cannot become

rich  if one does not " mau" ...

Thus, if one wants to become rich in stocks,

" mau" is the only way to go... but for most

mature palyers, it is not the way... Smiley

False statement, I am afraid!

Think the other way, let some one A and B using the same amount of initial capital of Sgd. 500,000.00   invests the same share at prices Sgd. 5.00 (100,000 shares for A) and  Sgd. 10.00 (50,000 shares for B).

When the share price up from Sgd. 5.00 to Sgd. 10.00  A will gain Sgd. 500,000.00 so 100% from A's initial capital.(Sgd. 1,000,000.00 for A's new capital). While B no gain, no loss, just break even back to B's own initial capital. Also

When the share price down from Sgd. 10.00 to Sgd.5.00 A will loss Sgd. 500,000.00 back to new capital value Sgd. 500,000.00 ( so no gain, no loss for A) but B will loss Sgd. 250,000.00 (50% of B's initial capital) becomes only left Sgd. 250,000.00 for B's new capital value.

The above scenario showon that the ENTERING PRICE LEVEL does count in stock investment performance!

iPunter      ( Date: 27-Jun-2011 00:43) Posted:

Stocks are not easy to play...

If one loses 50%, one needs to make back 100% just to break even.

Even to male back 10% is very hard, not to mention 100%.

Back tracking to the genuine intention of listed company going public, just against their principles, your suggestion will not work! Only thing they might do set up a minimum of say > 38% of their contribution net profit translated into the forms of DIVIDEND & or  BONUS issue shares, & or SPECIAL SHARE PLACEMENT etc.

Laulan      ( Date: 27-Jun-2011 10:20) Posted:

I would like to call upon all companies whose market share prices are far too low, i.e lower than their NAV or NTA per share, to consider reducing capital and make a capital repayment to their share holders to avoid idle cash being held unproductively.   If cash are not so abundant they could actually sell off some less priority assets for cash for such an exercise of capital repayment.   This will earn them good karma and since idle cash are not being used for the business, repaying the shareholders should be in the best interest of the market, although no good for long-term short sellers who are not shareholders actually.   Just don't buy back shares and placed them in the books as treasury shares since treasury shares have little meaning.   Just pay off the shareholders!

There are too many companies whose share prices are way below market value. Responsible directors, kindly consider my advice. Cheers..

Some day, Beijing and London will be connected with the China made high speed rail way! Also Beijing and Singapore too!

This implies that the use of iron, steel and vanadium will increase significantly and will  definitely benefit Sapphire's subsidiary...Wei Yuan, Sapphire Mineral Resources

and Special Steel.

Let's sit back, relax   and let the price appreciate.......    that's my vision ( but dreams do come true......haaa)

ECRI have forcast Global Industrial Growth to slow for the next few quater. So far they have been laser sharp in calling start and end of previous recessions.

True enough, all data since Laksman Achuthan interview with CNBC, all data are coming in weaker than expected.

What does that means to stock?

Your take???

Yes, today up till this time, closing price at Sgd. 0.075, > 100 lots transaction volume. Hence, in immediate near term, > Sgd. 0.085 should be imminent and possible! Though it is still far away from my average cost price Sgd. 0.18! Just patiently doing my smartly unique multi stages " Money cost averaging" will surely solve my paper loss soon, even getting much profit in a later time!

Hulumas      ( Date: 07-Mar-2011 15:58) Posted:

Today, it seems I almost queue buy alone at Sgd. 0.085? Singapore investor do not invest based on FA at all, they just invest based on TA, I presume!

What I meant was one must not be biased...

On Monday, stocks may either surge upward, or

may drop... no one can tell, because all is betting.

No matter how biased one is, no one can change the market.

But of course those who bought will want stocks to go up... Smiley
