If u short from 0.005 to 0.001, needs 4 trades, 4 times fixed trading cost instead of one if the trading spread is 0.005, so will the investor benefit from the new rule ?

The effect neither inducing the long nor short the penny stocks market sentiments, one thing for sure, it will stimulate the frequency of transaction, hence, in some larger extent. . .the volume trading too! I welcome most this new policy set up, it is mostly contributed and act as catalyst  to  the  small and penny stocks volume transaction frequency trading liquidity problem so far.

Never stop, since the cash flows are rolled over and over. Every day buying programme, while every weeks or months or years  taking profit  periodically.

wake up u all..

expecting MAS to protect retailers in such issues is like expecting the gov to protect gamblers from losing 100% of their capita

Is it S-chip?

Concerto      ( Date: 30-Jun-2011 11:09) Posted:

I am disappointed that the exit offer is not given to the shareholders and it is allowed to be delist. I did not sell my shares in this company thinking that such offer be given prior to be delisted. Wondering if SGX is enforcing on this rule strictly or enforce it only when the owners bother to be cooperative. Also saw the article about general magetics getting delisted without any exit offer. Anyone knows what is the reason that SGX introduces this rule but never ensure the compliance of such rules? And who ensures that that SGX properly implement such rules. I felt l lost my all my  investment in this company due to  the poor management of this company and SGX not ensuring such rules are complied.

First basic principle of investing share: Buy at lowest possible share prices and Sell  at highest possible share prices.

So when the market goes down I am waiting to catch buying at the lowest price and when the market goes up I am waiting to let my share holding go (sell not buy some more) at the highest possible share prices.

iPunter      ( Date: 27-Jun-2011 11:45) Posted:

But you did not consider the human element.

When a stock goes down, people tend to buy some more

to fight the market, as they are " mm kam guan"

with the market if it goes down.

But if the market goes up, human nature is

such that he will buy some more to maximise

their profits... Thus in practice, not everything

is as straightforwrd as you think... Smiley

Hulumas      ( Date: 27-Jun-2011 11:10) Posted:

False statement, I am afraid!

Think the other way, let some one A and B using the same amount of initial capital of Sgd. 500,000.00   invests the same share at prices Sgd. 5.00 (100,000 shares for A) and  Sgd. 10.00 (50,000 shares for B).

When the share price up from Sgd. 5.00 to Sgd. 10.00  A will gain Sgd. 500,000.00 so 100% from A's initial capital.(Sgd. 1,000,000.00 for A's new capital). While B no gain, no loss, just break even back to B's own initial capital. Also

When the share price down from Sgd. 10.00 to Sgd.5.00 A will loss Sgd. 500,000.00 back to new capital value Sgd. 500,000.00 ( so no gain, no loss for A) but B will loss Sgd. 250,000.00 (50% of B's initial capital) becomes only left Sgd. 250,000.00 for B's new capital value.

The above scenario showon that the ENTERING PRICE LEVEL does count in stock investment performance
