only makes trading below 20 cents stocks more challenging.

i think for example, those buy abc stock @0.135 today. then come monday, they see buy 0.133 sell 0.134 queues. also Smiley

needs to adjust to trade +/- 0.001. wants to buy up to 0.140 also needs 5 bids.

Where there is a will, there is a way!

stockmarketmind      ( Date: 01-Jul-2011 13:11) Posted:

How do we achieve that? The US market is so big, and it's so difficult to regulate with so many elements to consider. If it is that easy to regulate, then there won't be news out on insider trading , etc..

The shiny CRH380 model we rode serves the new 1,318-kilometer (819-mile) Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway -- completed in just three years -- and cuts journey time between China's political center and commercial hub in half to under five hours.

Small wonder rail authorities had invited the entire foreign press corps for a preview trip a few days before the official launch on June 30.

NOW IS WAITING FOR MIDAS TURN TO MOVE UP LIKE BULLET TRAIN.....

How about the other way round, when it is up from Sgd. 0.001 to 0.005. INVEST Sgd. 5,000.00 at Sgd. 0.001 and if go up to Sgd. 0.005 will become Sgd. 25,000.00!

warrenbegger      ( Date: 01-Jul-2011 01:20) Posted:

Maybe :)

There's a chance for them to go down more and lose more. From bottom to more bottom?

Eg, invest 5000 at 0.005 and if go down to 0.001 will become 1000 ???

xing78      ( Date: 01-Jul-2011 01:08) Posted:

Will there be panic selling tomorrow for penny stocks like Lereno, MDR, Sunmoon, etc... with last done @ 0.005?

On 4-July, any chance for these counters to go down further ... 0.004, 0.003, 0.002, 0.001?

I think this new scheme could promote penny stocks  that are " not moving for years" or  " half-dead" to become more active  in SGX by having the lower bids spread.

Wise decision I should say! CHINA JISHAN problem is entirely not the financial fundamental, business prospect & growth and management capability also general market competitive advantages and its expanding market share, but only its transaction liquidity problem in SGX capital market! Thanks be to God, by enforcing lesser minimum bid of only Sgd. 0.001 for any step of increament and decreament on the bid and offer prices starting on this coming early JULY 2011. The better and best scenario in the near future will be abruptly improved for sure! Best of luck for all CHINA JISHAN's INVESTORS!

REMINDER : The Game Changes on Monday

Come Monday (4th July) onwards, there will be a change to the minimum bid size of SGX listed securities. For stocks priced below 20 cents, the new minimum spread will be 0.1 cent. Stocks priced from 20 cents to $1.995 will be trading on a 0.5 cent spread, while stocks $2.00 and above will have a minimum spread of 1 cent.

[##  FOOD  PRICES  INCREASE  by  S$0.50  and  WHY  nOt  by S$0.05 each time  ? ? ? ?  ##]

Sometimes smaller is better
According to SGX, the spread reduction will help to reduce trading costs, which could lead to significant savings for the high frequency traders. For retail investors, the spread change will help in setting more precise profit taking or cut loss levels.

Game changers on their way
In view of the changes, Macquarie will be listing 12 new warrants on Monday for investors to take advantage of the reduced spreads. The new warrants will have higher warrants per share (WPS) and will be priced below 20 cents. As such, the bid/ask spread of the warrants could be as low as 0.1 cent. The warrants could potentially be more sensitive to the underlying stock price movements.
