Thanks for the info that FN has a controlling stake in the Myammar Brewery House.  Is there any other reasons for Today's rise - can it be a special dividend to be announced soon for the profit distribution for APB?
Octavia ( Date: 22-May-2013 09:59) Posted:
SCB visited Myanmar and met the management of F& N, who controls Myanmar Brewery. House note that the country’s extended isolation has led to a shortage of basic consumer items and a thirst for beer. Going forward, think Thai Bev is likely to acquire F& N’s F& B business in a restructuring. Assuming the restructuring, estimate Myanmar could represent 47% of Thai Bev’s beer vol growth in 2013-17. Myanmar brewery currently has 83% of market share in Myanmar’s beer industry. Previously Heineken was barred from investing in Myanmar due to the EU sanctions. Myanmar Brewery was therefore lodged in F& N’s F& B business. Overall, note that Myanmar is at a nascent stage as a consumer play and Thai Bev stands out among Myanmar consumer opportunities. In 2013-17, estimate about 15% of Thai Bev‟ s beer revenue growth could be driven by Myanmar. |

DBS Vickers thinks that mid cap offshore plays could catch up with the large caps as risk appetite improves and the industry fundamentals remain strong.
Their top picks are Ezion, ASL Marine Holdings and Ezra Holdings.
May we be patient. These undervalued gems will hit the target price. |

" Once all regulatory & necessary shareholders approvals are received the Co will reward existing shareholders with a free bonus issue of 2 warrants for every 1 existing share, each warrant with an exercise price of $0.18 per share.." The warrants normally have a shelf life of 2 years...unless one exercises the warrants into mother shares then one has to pay $180 for 1000 Rowsley shares at $0.18 per 1000 shares..correct me if I ma wrong. The above source is from Latest Share Investment book |

Fantastic, today seen 50 million of short sell by shortist ,much higher than last few days of 30 millions. Yet the stk price keep pushing up by BBs who are   friendly to Mr. Charon , the boss. If the price hold firm or go up further, will see further price explosive upward ``chiong``when the shortist cannot hold on anymore. Hope the longist will win all the way up.  Many shortist thought the price will weaken with the not so satisfactory quarter result but it goes upward instead.

From OCBC today.
In line with its profit guidance issued on 10 May, Midas Holdings reported a net loss attributable to shareholders of CNY4.9m in 1Q13, versus PATMI of CNY15.3m in 1Q12. Revenue fell 12.1% YoY to CNY202.4m. While we had expected Midas to report a loss-making quarter, the magnitude was larger than our forecast for a net loss of CNY3.2m. However, revenue was within our CNY199.8m estimate. The below expectations bottomline performance was due partially to weaker-than-estimated gross margin and largely attributed to a wider share of loss of CNY4.0m from its associated company, Nanjing SR Puzhen Rail Transport (OIR forecast: share of loss of CNY0.8m). On an operational basis, Midas was actually profitable, although profit from operations dipped 50.4% YoY to CNY18.9m. We will provide more updates after the analyst conference call. For now we have a BUY rating on Midas. However, our forecasts, 1.2x P/B target peg and S$0.595 fair value estimate are likely to be lowered given the ongoing uncertainty over the timeline of resumption of new high-speed train car orders. (Wong Teck Ching Andy)
From CIMB today
1Q13 disappointed, with a reported net loss of Rmb4.9mn vs. our FY13 forecast of Rmb40.63mn due to the lack of major contracts on its orderbook. This is in line as we are confident that Midas will clinch major HSR contracts in 2H13, which will make up for the losses this quarter. We keep our FY13-15 EPS intact and leave our target price of $0.70 unchanged, still based on 1.29x CY13 P/BV. Maintain Outperform. |

spot-on.....precisely the way i wished and played out accordingly....i raise my upside from 80cts to $1.00 within this yr. Has been accumulating since 36ct and buying up, will continue this buying as price appreciate. Won`t sell thbev.
infancybird ( Date: 09-May-2013 18:58) Posted:
thbev and FNN share the same stk price movement. FNN has been on an constant uptrend since lifting of halt and this is a good indication that the insider are buying and accumulating FNN and this is good for Thbev. The latter will benefit greatly from a spin-off of the beverage business of FNN. Tgt price is beyond 80ct after july 19th. My advice is....... still can accumulate Thbev around this price |

Good news and hope Wilmar will move up today
Octavia ( Date: 08-May-2013 08:10) Posted:
Singapore palm oil firm Wilmar International Ltd reported a 23 per cent rise in first-quarter net profit on Wednesday, largely due to a recovery in its oilseeds and grains segment.
The company also said the bird flu outbreak in China will affect meal consumption in the short term but it remains optimistic about the long-term prospects of the country.
Wilmar posted net profit of US$315.4 million for the three months ended March, up from US$255.9 million a year earlier and above the US$291 million average estimate from four analysts polled by Reuters.
While palm oil prices are likely to remain low, affecting the plantation division's profitability, the declining price trend is expected to benefit the downstream businesses, Wilmar said. -- REUTERS
